How to connect using Moonlight

Moonlight is an open-source application that lets you remotely access a workstation with very low latency and high image quality. It is particularly well suited for GPU workloads, visualization, and interactive applications.

Your SwissGPU workstation runs Sunshine, an open-source GameStream-compatible server. Sunshine captures the workstation’s desktop and encodes it using the GPU so that Moonlight can stream it efficiently to your device.

Step 1 — Install Moonlight

Download and install the Moonlight client on your local computer:

Step 2 — Add your workstation

Open Moonlight and click the Add PC button in the top-right corner. Enter the hostname of your SwissGPU workstation followed by the port number.

After adding it, the workstation will appear in the Moonlight interface.

Step 3 — Pair the client

Click on the workstation in Moonlight. A 4-digit PIN will appear. This PIN is required to securely pair your device with the workstation.

Open the server dashboard and click the Pair button. Enter the PIN displayed in Moonlight to complete the pairing process.

Once the pairing is completed, simply click the workstation in Moonlight to start streaming your desktop.
